Universae Ecclesiae for the Feast of our Lady of Fatima

Some may ask, “What is the significance of the release date of May 13 for Universae Ecclesiae?”

Connect the dots, dear people.

May 13, 1917 – Our Lady came to give dire warnings to the Church.

Msgr. Eugene Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII:

“I am worried by the Blessed Virgin’s messages to Lucy of Fatima. This persistence of Mary about the dangers which menace the Church is a divine warning against the suicide of altering the Faith, in Her liturgy, Her theology and Her soul. … I hear all around me innovators who wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject Her ornaments and make Her feel remorse for Her historical past.”

Draw your own conclusions, but I believe the date to be a significant signal grace from our Lady of Fatima.   Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

File this under “I told you so.”

Just last week – on Monday, May 2, to be precise – a certain ‘learned persona’ was arguing with me that the Motu Propio Summorum Pontificum applied only to those “attached” to the TLM.   If he is of good will, I expect him to be willing to eat “humble pie”.  He wouldn’t believe me.  Perhaps he will believe the Pope’s Universae Ecclesiae.

I can’t wait for Friday the 13th!  Thank you dear Blessed Mother!!

Here is the article with the original found here.

The Vatican has announced that a new Instruction on the implementation of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum, regarding the broader use of the traditional Latin Mass, will be released on Friday, May 13.

The long-awaited Instruction is entitled Universae Ecclesiae, the Vatican indicated in the May 11 announcement. The document will be released in several different languages.

Universae Ecclesiae is expected to strengthen the call by Pope Benedict XVI to make the traditional liturgy available to the faithful in every diocese. The new document will make it clear that pastors do not need further permission from their bishops in order to celebrate the Latin Mass, informed observers say.

Universae Ecclesiae will be published in the May 14 edition of the Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican press office said. Because of the odd system used for the cover date of the newspaper, the May 14 edition is scheduled to appear in print on the afternoon of May 13.

Learned Liturgical Director says…

(The funny picture here was removed at the suggestion of frozencold, although I thought it was humorous!)    🙂

This fellow here, in his official capacity of “liturgical director” has informed me that the TLM and dinner at St. Rose is not a parish event –  this in spite of the fact that all proceeds from ticket sales are being donated to the parish and that we have not asked  one dime of them.

Please remember him in your prayers and at the collection.  It might just happen that when the collection basket comes around, we will suddenly remember, “Oh, gee, golly.  I suddenly recall that is not a parish event!  I guess I can put my wallet back!”

Save your hard-earned money and give instead to a Trad community of priests.  Maybe it’s time to shake the dust off our feet.

Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that he said we were “exploiting” the parish!  He took that back after I pointed out a few facts which gave the lie to his statement.

Attention Kankakee Families: Altar boy practice!

The date is fast approaching!  I’m getting excited, aren’t you?

There will be altar boy practice on Saturday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Rose church.  It looks like we will have AT LEAST 10 boys and young men serving!

Way to go, guys!

You will be measured for cassocks and surplices on that day.  We’ll see you then!

(Now, if only we could get some of you to learn chant. 🙂

What We Think We Know…

Someone whose judgment I trust, asked me to post this article on my blog.  Since I am too tired at the moment to read through it, I’m posting it after only a hasty scan.  As to the category, I’m posting under “I TOLD YOU SO”  because quite frankly, I like hearing myself say it.  🙂

The Mass of Padre Pio – The Sacrifice of Calvary

I just had to share this article with you.  It is a timely article to read as we enter into Holy Week.

From the interview:

What should we do during the Mass?

Be compassionate and love.

Father, how are we supposed to listen to the Mass?

The way the Blessed Virgin and pious women attended to the tragedy of Calvary. The same way John attended the Eucharistic Sacrifice and the bloody Sacrifice of the Cross.

+++++++

Is there any doubt that the Mass is the re-presentation of Calvary? For me, it is impossible to sense that at the N.O. and that is why I attend the Traditional Latin Mass.  Anyway, here it is in its entirety. I pray reading it will allow you to enter more deeply into the mystery of our Redemption mystically re-presented at the altar.

La Cristiada, a crusade for Christ!

I do not go to movies.  Well, rarely anyway.  To be precise, the last movie I went to see was The Passion, and before that, I cannot even remember.

But, look at the trailer for this upcoming film.  The theaters can count on my money for this one!  In Mel Gibson’s movie, he brought before our eyes the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This movie allows us to view a bit of the Passion of His Mystical Body.  It’s a must see!

The Cristeros,  valiant, faith-filled men, women and even children, ready to die for Christ and His one, true Church!

¡Viva Cristo Rey!  ¡Viva la Santisima Virgen Maria de Guadalupe!

If you assist at the TLM, this exhortation is not for you.

Bishop Schneider:

“If some non-believer arrived [at Mass at the time of Holy Communion]

and observed such an act of adoration, perhaps he, too, would fall down and worship God, declaring,

‘God is really in your midst.’”
