Rorate Caeli TLM, Kankakee

“And the Light shineth in darkness.”

For the Rorate Mass, the priest uses white vestments in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary instead of the penitential violet. The most striking aspect of this Mass is that the church is lit only by candlelight, and eventually also with the rising sun!

Priest and faithful arrive in the still-darkness of a pre-dawn morn, for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in honor of our Lady who in her sinless, Immaculate Conception was made worthy to give birth to the second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, our Lord Jesus Christ, on that first Christmas Day!

Where: Former St. Martin Church, now JP II parish – 956 S. 10th Ave, Kankakee

Date: December 11, 2021

Time: 6:15 a.m.

This Rorate Mass will be the very first for yours truly.  I await it with joyful anticipation!  May God grant many the grace to be able to be there.  Let this Rorate Mass be one of the greatest and most joyful ways to prepare for Christmas!
