Fr. Valentine, FSSP, celebrated the apostolate’s first Sunday TLM at its new location in Rockdale, IL, in the church of St. Joseph, diocese of Joliet. Father has been appointed administrator of this mixed parish. Undoubtedly, the arrival of a Latin Mass community has been disconcerting to existing parishioners, but given time, they will come to see and appreciate the tremendous blessing God has bestowed on them.
The Sunday bulletin had this insertion:
“What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful.. It behooves all of us to preserve the riches which have developed in the Church’s faith and prayer, and to give them their proper place.” – Letter to bishops, Pope Benedict XII, July 7, 2007+++++++++++++++++++++++
This coming Feast of the Assumption, Fr. Valentine will celebrate two Masses, one at 7 a.m. and the other at 7 in the evening.
Sunday Mass is at 10:00 a.m.; Daily Mass is at 7:30 a.m.

Father celebrates Mass one Saturday per month at the Poor Clares monastery in Minooka, @ 8 a.m., in which case there is no Saturday morning Mass at St. Joseph. I believe the monthly Mass at the monastery falls on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Support the apostolate, if you are able!!
Edward,
I was told by someone who attended last Sunday’s Mass that the place was, indeed, packed. As to the Communion rail, we wholeheartedly recommend Altare Design. You may check out their web page to see a rail they finished not too long ago for a chapel in southern Illinois.
Please do keep us posted. I personally have asked Fr. Valentine to remember us here in Kankakee. He once came down here to celebrate the TLM, and our church was also nicely filled. There is a hunger for the reverence of the TLM in our diocese. Prayer will overcome the obstacles which keep us from having the regularly celebrated TLM as so many of us greatly desire. Young families can travel out of the diocese, but the older people cannot, and I know several who also long for the old Mass.
I assure you of my most fervent prayers. Keep in touch, and if there is anything we can do to help, let me know. You may contact us at: kankakeelatinmassATaltaredesignDOTcom

I atteneded the first two Sunday Masses and the attendence is way more than what I expected. The church probably holds 250(?) and it was pretty much packed except for a few seats in the front pews of course.
They now have the table over to the left and have a small high altar in place. One thing they really need is a communion rail! The first two Sundays the front pews were used. Hopefully this will come soon because they need one with the amount of people coming to Mass and receiving communion.
Please pray for a complete success.
