A Note From Bishop Schneider

The following message is now circulating on FB.   It comes from a true bishop providing much needed guidance and encouragement to all those fighting the good fight against the likes of a Cupich.  Truly, we are seeing confrontations of bishops against bishops; none of us may remain undecided.  The line in the sand has been drawn.  Where do you stand?

“I was pleased to see that some Catholic journalists and internet bloggers behaved as good soldiers of Christ and drew attention to this clerical agenda of undermining the perennial teaching of Our Lord. Cardinals, bishops, priests, Catholic families, Catholic young people have to say to themselves: I refuse to conform to the neo-pagan spirit of this world, even when this spirit is spread by some bishops and cardinals; I will not accept their fallacious and perverse use of holy Divine mercy and of “new Pentecost”; I refuse to throw grains of incense before the statue of the idol of the gender ideology, before the idol of second marriages, of concubinage, even if my bishop would do so, I will not do so; with the grace of God I will choose to suffer rather than betray the whole truth of Christ on human sexuality and on marriage.”

– Bishop Athanasius Schneider.

Cupich on Holy Communion For ‘Gays’

Chicago Catholics, are your ready for the return of your Ordinary from the Synod?  Look what he has in mind for you.

“When asked by LifeSiteNews if the notion of accompanying people to the sacraments who had a clear indication of conscience to do so also applied to gay couples in the Church who wish to receive Communion, Cupich indicated an affirmative answer.”

If you are not horrified, then you can’t be a real Catholic!

“What Archbishop Cupich is advocating for — most likely feeling empowered by what’s happening at the Synod — is Eucharistic desecration. Sacrilege. Mortal sin. 1 Corinthians 11:27-28…”

Canon 212 Society Puts Out An Urgent Petition

This petition just put out this morning has garnered over 750 signatures in a very short time.   As someone commented about this, the petition will probably do no good.  It may not, but at least we will have declared ourselves publicly for Christ and His church.

Do you belong to the Church Militant, or not?

The Devastating Fire, Shrine of Christ the King Sovereign Priest

“If you look to the left where Our Lady’s statue used to be, that is where after every Mass, I’d go to kneel before our Lady to rest within her Immaculate Heart.  Then, I’d move over to the side where St Joseph was, and there I would spend time with the lord and master of the house, St. Joseph.

“It sad to think that those particular visits will no longer be possible for-who-knows how long.  How much more sad it must be for the priests who offered the traditional Latin mass there! Could you help them with donations according to your means? If not, please do pray for them and for the whole community, that the church will be magnificently restored.” _______________________________________________________________

“The Infant King statue was still standing atop the High Altar when the firefighters found it. ‘Even with all the jet streams, he was not knocked down,’  said the Rev. Michael Stein, a canon at the shrine.  ‘He is three centuries old and he did not go up in flames.’  The statue did lose an arm, and its vestments were covered in ash, but Stein pointed out that the statue’s remaining hand was still held up in a sign of blessing: ‘That he was saved shows our story isn’t over here, he’s still with us, his hand is still raised in blessing, ‘ Stein said.”

Explosive Admission by Cardinal Danneels

The author of the following article has asked that it be disseminated far and wide.  Share it with others, let everyone know.

“At the launch of the book [his biography, Cardinal Godfried Danneels] in Brussels this week, the cardinal said he was part of a secret club of cardinals opposed to Pope Benedict XVI.

“He called it a “mafia” club that bore the name of St. Gallen. The group wanted a drastic reform of the Church, to make it “much more modern”, and for Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to head it. The group, which also comprised Cardinal Walter Kasper and the late Jesuit Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, has been documented in Austen Ivereigh’s biography of Pope Francis, The Great Reformer.

“Rod Dreher has picked up the story at The American Conservative, and he emphasizes the importance of the fact that ‘Pentin got his hands on a copy of the authorized repeat, authorized — biography’ – and that this is where the information is coming from, not some anonymous source.

“Marco Tosatti, the Senior Religion Correspondent for the the Italian daily, La Stampa, also did a story on this yesterday, which has now been translated by the good folks at Rorate Caeli:

The election of Jorge Bergoglio was the fruit of secret meetings that cardinals and bishops, organized by Carlo Maria Martini, held for years at St. Gall in Switzerland. This is what is claimed by Jürgen Mettepenningen and Karim Schelkens, the authors of a just published biography of the Belgian Cardinal Godfried Danneels, who refer to the group of cardinals and bishops as the “Mafiaclub”.

Danneels, according to the authors, had worked for years in preparation for the election of Pope Francis, which happened in 2013. He himself, however, in a video recorded during the presentation of the book admits that he had taken part in a secret club of cardinals that were in opposition to Joseph Ratzinger. While laughing he calls it “a Mafia club whose name was St. Gall”.

The group wanted a drastic reform of the Church, much more modern and up to date, with Jorge Bergoglio as Pope Francis at the head. And this is just as things turned out. In addition to Danneels and Martini, among the others who made up the group according to the book were the Dutch bishop Adriaan Van Luyn, the German cardinals Walter Kasper and Karl Lehman, the Italian cardinal AchilleSilvestrini and the English cardinal Basil Hume.

The Belgian newspaper “Le Vif” wrote: “ On March 13, 2013, an old acquaintance was at the side of the new Pope, Francis: Godfried Danneels. Officially he stood there in his role as the dean of the cardinal-priests, but actually he had operated for years in secret as the king-maker.”

Danneels has been invited again by Pope Francis to attend the Synod on the Family that will take place in October in Rome. But he has been severely criticized. He tried to dissuade a victim of sexual abuse from accusing the man who abused him, a bishop, who was the uncle of the victim, and because of this, at the time of the Conclave in 2013 there were those in Belgium who asked that he not be allowed to elect the new Pope.

In addition, his positions on homosexual marriage and on abortion, (according to the revelations of two parliamentarians Danneels had written to the king of Belgium urging him to sign the law that permitted it) does not seem to be in harmony with the Magisterium of the Church. And not in harmony as well with what Pope Francis affirms.

Think of the implications –  not only for the excommunication of Danneels, bur also for the canonical standing of the present pope.

“Excommunication is the penalty for collusion and conspiracy to elect a given candidate. This is serious business. It is astonishing that even someone as brazen as Cardinal Daneels would admit to doing so openly, and on the record.”

For the full story as it appears at IPeter5:

Note: We here at Kankakee Latin Mass had posted the article – Intrigue at the Papal Conclave,  over two years ago.   But then we didn’t know the Cardinal’s name!

Papal Speech At The White House

The media cannot be accused of distorting Francis’ words.  Here is the text of his speech delivered at the White House.  Note that the only “authoritative” citations he gives are  “wooly” sentiments from his Laudato Si letter.    This is a speech which could very well come from the mouth of the Dalai lama.

September 23, 2015

Mr. President,

I am deeply grateful for your welcome in the name of all Americans.  As the son of an immigrant family, I am happy to be a guest in this country, which was largely built by such families.  I look forward to these days of encounter and dialogue, in which I hope to listen to, and share, many of the hopes and dreams of the American people.

During my visit I will have the honor of addressing Congress, where I hope, as a brother of this country, to offer words of encouragement to those called to guide the nation’s political future in fidelity to its founding principles.  I will also travel to Philadelphia for the Eighth World Meeting of Families, to celebrate and support the institutions of marriage and the family at this, a critical moment in the history of our civilization.

Mr. President, together with their fellow citizens, American Catholics are committed to building a society which is truly tolerant and inclusive, to safeguarding the rights of individuals and communities, and to rejecting every form of unjust discrimination.  With countless other people of good will, they are likewise concerned that efforts to build a just and wisely ordered society respect their deepest concerns and their right to religious liberty.  That freedom remains one of America’s most precious possessions.  And, as my brothers, the United States Bishops, have reminded us, all are called to be vigilant, precisely as good citizens, to preserve and defend that freedom from everything that would threaten or compromise it.

Mr. President, I find it encouraging that you are proposing an initiative for reducing air pollution.  Accepting the urgency, it seems clear to me also that climate change is a problem which can no longer be left to a future generation.  When it comes to the care of our “common home”, we are living at a critical moment of history.  We still have time to make the changes needed to bring about “a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change” (Laudato Si’, 13).  Such change demands on our part a serious and responsible recognition not only of the kind of world we may be leaving to our children, but also to the millions of people living under a system which has overlooked them.  Our common home has been part of this group of the excluded which cries out to heaven and which today powerfully strikes our homes, our cities and our societies.  To use a telling phrase of the Reverend Martin Luther King, we can say that we have defaulted on a promissory note and now is the time to honor it.

We know by faith that “the Creator does not abandon us; he never forsakes his loving plan or repents of having created us.  Humanity still has the ability to work together in building our common home” (Laudato Si’, 13).  As Christians inspired by this certainty, we wish to commit ourselves to the conscious and responsible care of our common home.

The efforts which were recently made to mend broken relationships and to open new doors to cooperation within our human family represent positive steps along the path of reconciliation, justice and freedom.  I would like all men and women of good will in this great nation to support the efforts of the international community to protect the vulnerable in our world and to stimulate integral and inclusive models of development, so that our brothers and sisters everywhere may know the blessings of peace and prosperity which God wills for all his children.

Mr. President, once again I thank you for your welcome, and I look forward to these days in your country.  God bless America!

Francis’s Fortune Cookies of Apostasy

“Hence, too, that meaning of the sacred dogmas is ever to be maintained which has once been declared by Holy mother Church, and there must never be any abandonment of this sense under the pretext or in the name of a more profound understanding.” (Infallible declaration, Dogmatic Council, Vatican I)

fortune cookie

Our local newspaper, the Daily Journal, in its September 19 edition, carried a feature story about Pope Francis in which four Catholics, known to me, were interviewed. These four included three elderly ladies and a retired priest who not too long ago, was pastor of the parish I once attended.  It was no surprise to me that those four applaud Francis’s (in the expression of George Will) “woolly sentiments that have the intellectual tone of fortune cookies.”

For over 2,000 years, the Church founded by our Divine Lord, has issued papal documents such as Apostolic Constitutions, encyclicals, and motu propios, to expound upon, and to teach faith and morals to the faithful, never to give opinions on scientific matters, or to introduce a novelty completely foreign to the deposit of Faith: “For the Holy Spirit was promised to the successors of Peter not so that they might, by his revelation, make known some new doctrine, but that, by his assistance, they might religiously guard and faithfully expound the revelation or deposit of faith transmitted by the apostles.” (Dogmatic constitution on the Church of Christ, Vatican I)

To disseminate opinions by a pope who uses the trappings of his office, is misleading and dangerous to Catholics as well as to others who trust in the moral judgments of a vicar of Christ.

The newspaper touts the ladies interviewed as being the most active in the parish, and I have no doubt they are because the orthodox-believing parishioners, among them younger people, and several homeschooling families, left long ago. What remains is a dying parish which has had to eliminate Masses; seen a drastic decline in membership; shares a pastor with two other churches in a necessary merger; no longer houses its own Religious Education program; can’t seem to recruit sufficient altar boys, or even girls, to serve at the altar.  Need I say more? It’s a dying parish, and these interviewees are giddy over the prospect of an accelerated pace of destruction for the church they believe themselves to love!

Lady 87 year old: “Participation by women in the church was limited to ‘cleaning the church.’ ”

“She has seen divorcees and gay people shunned by the church, and particularly, in the latter case…and it has troubled her… ‘I approve of everything he [Francis] is doing going forward’, she [87 year old] said.”

Lady 76 years old: “I am 10 times deeper in my faith.”

Lady 80 years old: “…she believes the attitude of passing judgment and taking punitive action toward those who violate various tenements [sic] of the faith is not what the church was built on.”

“[She] is most concerned by ‘not taking care of the planet…Very quietly he [Francis] will win out’, she said.”

Priest 75 about years old: “God is the only one who doesn’t get upset with our rejecting [H]im”, he said.

Priest:  “It’s in the scripture….When people reject [H]im we’re supposed to work it out,” he continued. “Instead we go to war.”

To this priest I would remind him of our Lady of Fatima’s sorrowful lamentation – and warning of the dire consequences both temporal and eternal if people do not stop offending God:  “Do not offend the Lord our God any more, for He is already too much offended!”  and “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go…”

Scripture also tells us that Christ, the Stone – the solid foundation of right faith which is rejected by unbelievers will become the stumbling stone of perdition for them, “For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.”

What Christian in his right mind, especially a Catholic priest, can publicly state that God “doesn’t get upset” when he is rejected? This priest knows nothing of the sufferings of our Redeemer and God, our Lord Jesus Christ! He cannot possible fathom the bitter sorrows of his most loving Heart when He was rejected by His own people, and who continues to be rejected by many.  What hard and cold heart in this priest!

Fortunately, not all priests are like that. I do remember quite well the words of a previous pastor at the same church, my confessor at one time, a beautiful soul who expressed with his mouth what he held in his heart. He told me, “Christ died of a broken heart.”

When once referring to this true pastor of souls, Lady 87 once called him “weird” – for not getting with the times! Call it the lost generation, these ladies 76, 87 80 and the priest. Somewhere along the path, they lost their way, and Francis is giving them a false sense of security as well as assurance for continuing along a crooked bend instead of the straight and narrow road delineated by Divine Revelation.

I would remind those four, and others like them, that fortune cookies carry no dogmatic weight whatsoever;  not even if cooked up by a pope.

“Hold firmly that our faith is identical with that of the ancients. Deny this, and you dissolve the unity of the Church.” – St. Thomas Aquinas

Latest CMP Video Exposing PP’s Sale of Body Parts

Pray for an end to abortion.   The greatest evil confronting this nation is  not unemployment or even illegal immigration.  It is the slaughter of its innocent children made even more ghoulish and Satanic by the tagging of their tiny, bloodied body parts with dollar signs.

Such people who participate in this horrific evil  are a disgrace to their country.   Spiritually adopt an abortionist, and pray for his or her  conversion at every Mass at which you assist.

“From email black-outs to contorted oxymorons like ‘donation for remuneration,’ the lengths to which Planned Parenthood leadership will go to cover-up their illegal sale of aborted baby parts are nothing less than the desperation of a guilty conscience. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards openly admits they receive ‘$60 per tissue specimen,’ and their contracts with StemExpress offer payments per fetus ‘determined in the clinic to be usable.’ Planned Parenthood runs their abortion and baby parts business in open disregard for the law and should be prosecuted immediately….”
