Her Immaculate Heart, or the Mouth of Moloch? Choose!

The biggest buzz on the internet in trad circles has been the leaked SSPX letters.  Last evening I read seven pages of discussion on the subject over at CathInfo.  The devil has his dupes sowing dissension.  Sadly, he also he has his dupes believing themselves to be the most heroic and faithful of Catholics while any others such as ourselves on this blog, they would consider “protestant” because we try to be faithful where God has planted us, i.e. within the canonical jurisdiction of the Church; yes, a Church like Christ on the cross, pitifully disfigured.

I remember one time when I tried to participate in a discussion on one of those “hardliner” trad forums.  What I said was that Sr. Lucia dos Santos – whose name means “light of the saints”  – was given to us for our times as an example of heroic tenacity in keeping the Faith under the most trying of circumstances.   We know she kept the faith because she was given the extraordinary grace of being told by Our Blessed Mother herself that she would, indeed, go to heaven.   The “hardliner” dismissed  Sr. Lucia by essentially calling her a “protestant”.   He was a CATHOLIC, you see!

It is a time for more intense prayer and sacrifice.  I would suggest that all reading this, if you are not doing it already, please make a novena for a canonical regularization of the SSPX.  I am. How the devil dreads the thought!  That he fears the strengthening of the church militant by an influx of SSPX faithful is evident by the means he is taking to break the SSPX.

Let’s make our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart our safety and our refuge during these times of diabolic disorientation. Satan knows his time is nearly up.  He cares not whether he devours from the left or from the right.

Traditional Latin Mass at St. Peter in Piper City

It was disappointing that only 50-60 people attended the Mass on May 5.  But for those who assisted, it was an inestimable grace.  The church was absolutely beautiful, and Father’s sermon was excellent!  He spoke of the need for reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and of the need to do penance.

Father mentioned the vision of the third secret of Fatima in which an angel was seen to the left of our Lady, brandishing a flaming sword as if ready to engulf the world in flames, while crying out three times, the word, “Penance!”.   He spoke of fallen-away Catholics for whom we must pray to return to the faith; and that there are sins worse than those of impurity such as sins of injustice like defrauding the poor and taking advantage of the helpless.

I received some more photos which I have added.  The statue pictured above is a very old and most beautiful image of our Lady, made in Spain, and which appears to be hand-carved.  This image was carried in the entrance procession and placed just inside the sanctuary.  Where our Lord is, our Lady is always close by!

A sincere and heartfelt “Thank you!” goes to Canon Ueda, Paul, Chris, the  ICR candidates, and servers; to my friends and family who are of immense help in so many ways.

You will be remembered in two Masses at the Institute.  God bless you all! May God reward your charity!

We also want to publicly give gratitude to St. Joseph, whom we have taken as our patron to assist us in our efforts to extend the celebration of the TLM in our area.

The Tree of Life Planted in the Midst of the Earth

The following is taken from Msgr. Gentilucci’s, Life of the Blessed Virgin, on how the Scriptures prophesied the coming of our Lady:

The first who announced our glorious Lady, was her royal ancestor the prophet David, when to the sweet strains of his inspired harp he sang: “The earth hath yielded her fruit,” which according to St. Jerome’s explanation, signifies: “Mary, who is also our earth, because on our side she is the daughter of Adam, and formed consequently of the same clay as we, has yielded from her chaste and virginal womb the divine fruit, that fruit of immortality, with which, too, we were to nourish ourselves in the sacrament of the Eucharist.”

[David] also predicts Mary, when…..he sings:  “Arise, O Lord, into thy resting place, thou and the ark which thou hast sanctified,” and he also alluded to Mary, when he said:  “God is our king before ages: he hath wrought salvation in the midst of the earth;” words which St. Bernard thus explains:  “The womb of Mary is called with admirable propriety ‘the midst of the earth.’ since those who dwell in heaven, and those who are beneath the earth [referring to limbo and Abraham’s bosom] ; those who lived before us, and we who are now alive; those who come after us, and all their posterity, all turn their eyes to Mary as the centre, as towards the ark of God, as towards the reason of all things, as towards the hope of all ages….In thee, O Mary, the angels find joy, the just grace, and sinners pardon; and well do all creatures turn their eyes to thee, because in thee and by thee, that is to say, by thy divine Son, the merciful hand of the Almighty has created in a new and spiritual manner, all that He created in the beginning.”

[Solomon echoed his father’s prophecy] when he says:  “Wisdom hath built herself a house; she hath hewn her out seven pillars.”   …[T]he wisdom of God, the co-eternal Word….Jesus Christ….made Himself an abode in the womb of Mary, where, on proceeding from the bosom of the Father, he assumed the human form.  The womb of Mary is then the house, the temple of the Word…The fullness of the Divinity dwells in that temple, where He hath hewn out seven pillars to support and adorn it;  that is, which He hath enriched with the theological and cardinal virtues; or rather, as St. Bonaventure says, He infused into the soul of Mary the seven graces of the Holy Ghost, in order to render it, by faith and works, an abode worthy of the divinity.”

The whole Canticle of Canticles may be considered as a prophecy relative to the Blessed Virgin, who is the Creator’s daughter of predilection.  In fact, the Holy Fathers say that, in the Canticle of Canticles, Solomon predicts the Blessed Virgin, under various figurative expressions, some of which we shall select.

to be continued….

Institute of Christ the King in Japan

Father Ueda recently returned from his homeland where he celebrated the Traditional Latin Mass during his visit there. He was kind enough to share these photos which were taken in the parish church in Kyoto on Sunday April 22.   He gives a little background on the city of Kyoto:  For more than a thousand years before Tokyo, Kyoto was the capital of Japan. The city has the distinction of being the place from where 26 Catholics were arrested and then marched during the middle of winter on a 30 day trek to Nagasaki where they were martyred by crucifixion.

Father writes:  “May the Holy Martyrs give us the strength to be faithful to Jesus until the end.”

I also have photos of Father’s Mass in Tokyo which I will be posting a little later.

God bless you, Father!

TLM Celebrated in High School Chapel…

…in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. From what one can see of the priest, he looks to be almost as young as those students!  There is no denying it.  The wave of the future is a return to tradition. May God be pleased to continue to pour forth such rich graces of mercy for His Church. Thank you, Lord!

Xavier Students Celebrate Traditional Latin Mass
Posted May 4, 2012 9:19 am by Jessica Schneider / Xavier High School

On Thursday, May 3, Father Chris Podhajsky celebrated a traditional Catholic Latin Mass in the Xavier High School chapel for Latin students and members of the Xavier community.

The theology of the Catholic Faith is expressed in the rich symbolism of the extraordinary form of the Roman rite, commonly known as the Traditional Latin Mass.

Latin is the maternal language of the Roman Catholic Church. While the Eastern Catholic Churches use their own sacred languages, for the greatest number of Catholics, Latin is the universal language of the Liturgy. Thus, the unity of prayer and faith has been preserved over all national differences for centuries. Latin has also inspired literature and Gregorian chant, and is the language of the Second Vatican Council.

Xavier is one of two Iowa schools still teaching Latin.

THEOLOGY OF THE TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS #27

Tertullian calls the Pater Noster “the abbreviated Gospel.”  This most perfect of prayers consists of 7 petitions by which we ask for the graces necessary to regulate our affections, inclinations and desires. It “contains almost the whole sum of the doctrine and law of Christ”, says Gihr.

At this point in the Mass, the Pater Noster, with its 7 petitions, calls to mind the 7 last words spoken by our dying Savior.  It was with his third “word” that He gave us His Mother.

Interestingly enough, Holy Scripture also records a mere seven words of His Blessed Mother.  In this little detail, open hearts can detect the whisper of the Holy Ghost intimating at the closest of unions between Mother and Son in God’s plan of redemption for the fallen human race.

Our Lord invites us into the intimacy of a familial relationship with His Father, but that is not all.  A family needs a mother; so now, from the Cross, in His last will and testament, He gives us one: “Mulier, ecce filius tuus.”   Thereafter, will be applied to her, the words of Ecclesiasticus 24,11: “ And so was I established in Sion, and in the holy city likewise I rested, and my power was in Jerusalem. And I took root in an honorable people, and in the portion of my God.”

Prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, who, (among the other words spoken by Thee on the Cross) didst commend Thy Mother to Thy beloved disciple, and him again to her; I commend unto her care myself and all I have, with a firm faith and confidence in Her protection, and I beseech Thee by the aid of Her prayers, to preserve me amidst the troubles and dangers of this life by granting me the graces necessary to regulate my affections, inclinations and desires.  My Mother, be my guide and my protection through the perils of this life. Amen.”

________________________

Gihr states that the “Amen” at the end of the Our Father has a particular significance. Until 1958, only the priest said it, and it expressed, “not as at other times consent and desire, but is, so to speak, the answer that God has received and heard the petition of the people.” (The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass… pg. 699)

In the New Missal, that “Amen” was eliminated and replaced with the doxology with which Protestants pray their version of the Our Father. “This acclamation [doxology] was a new addition to the Communion rites and was probably added for ecumenical reasons.” – Father Edward McNamara, professor of liturgy at the Regina Apostolorum university)

Furthermore, in the New Mass, the sacredness of the moment is trivialized and made profane by the common practice of hand-holding, a practice indicative of personal intimacy which is totally alien to Scripture and Tradition in the worship of God.

Bertone Corruption

Our blog neighbor at the Tenth Crusade has this quite interesting post today.  The name “Bertone”  has a way of making me sit up and take notice – in a negative kind of way.

I left this comment over there: “Poor Sister Lucia. It is estimated that Bertone spent about 10 HOURS during three visits to her, trying to get her to corroborate the party line regarding the alleged consecration of Russia in ’84.

After those ten hours, he could not come up with any official testaments, either audio or visual, to give proof that Sr. Lucia was backing him up. TEN HOURS!

In all that time, all he accomplished was to say that he came away with a few “personal notes” saying that “she said”…

To take down those trifling notes would have taken no more than some minutes.

Commie-like intimidation and interrogation is what comes to my mind.”

More Evidence Bertone is a Source of Corruption… at the Vatican and is Being Protected by the Holy Father   Original source: Reuters

For over a decade, as Boston Catholic activists made their way up the food chain asking for intervention on this or that, several influential, high ranking sources began to paint a picture of an unnamed corrupt Cardinal at the Vatican. If we made enough of a media stink to create a scandal, some things could be intervened, but nothing would really change until he was dead.

Questions, like…Does the Holy Father know? Why wouldn’t he remove this individual? Is there extortion going on?…were greeted with silence.

As years went by, trust developed, several of my sources here in the US and Rome let thename Bertone fall from their lips. No details on how or why this man continues to be permitted to terrorize and is protected by what is now two pontificates that I am aware of, has ever been revealed.

This letter is a most interesting development, in that it appears to confirm the Holy Father indeed knows and is complicit in protecting Bertone.

This week, we now learn that instead of investigating the source of corruption, the Holy Father has ordered an investigation of the source of the leaks. This outrageous administrative handling of corrupt prelates who terrorize to hold onto their corrupt money or sex scandals continues to this day. To this day, they protect the corrupt by chasing the source of the whistleblowers. We see this manifesting itself here in Boston, which is why we took anonymous whistleblowing to a protected and anonymous blog.

This is not acceptable. Every Catholic should express their outrage that the Holy Father is complicit in silencing those who tell.

Readers here know that I am faithfu, devoted to and love our Holy Father, but the truth about Bertone must be exposed. Hus reign of terror must end.

Sometimes, you cant get rid of an individual because he or she has institutional memory that keeps the organization afloat. You have to bring in someone underneath him to observe, be trained, before you usher them out the door. This has been going on for at least a decade that I know about, and I am sure more. The cat appears to be out of thebag. The time has come to castrate his power. Retire. Do whatever it takes to remove him.

THEOLOGY OF THE TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS #26

After uncovering the Chalice, the priest genuflects.  Then, taking the consecrated Host in his right hand, and the Chalice bearing the Precious Blood in his left, he makes the sign of the cross with the Host, thrice over the Chalice. Then follows the Minor Elevation, after which the priest genuflects.

Gihr explains that, “[H]ere at the close of the Canon, the whole significance and efficacy of the Sacrifice of the Mass are again summarized [when] “the God-Man Highpriest, appears on the altar as Mediator between God and men:  on the one hand to bless and enrich men with the plenitude of the gifts of salvation; on the other, most perfectly to honor and glorify the eternal majesty of God.”

Jesus Christ is for the us that fountain Who sends forth living water.  He suffered so as to merit for us the living water of grace which would satiate our thirst for eternal happiness.  Every grace and every blessing proceed from the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Those graces flowing from Calvary are then dispensed to receptive souls of every age and place by means of the Mass.   St. Pio of Pietrelcina  once said,  “It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do so without the Holy Mass.”

One can readily understand what St. Pio meant in light of the teaching of St. Thomas that evil is the deprivation of those things necessary for our well-being and perfection. The ramification of fewer and fewer Masses being celebrated in the post-conciliar Church should be of utmost concern since an increase in evil is inversely proportional to the decrease in Masses being celebrated.  We have seen a drastic decline in priestly vocations resulting in fewer Masses being offered. Then, there is the ubiquitous practice of concelebrations, and “Communion services”. Our world is suffering a spiritual drought of catastrophic proportions.  Looking at the evils around us, it would seem that droves of souls must be falling into hell!

Our Lord thirsts for souls!  Who will be there, attentively and reverently assisting at Mass to compassionate His broken heart?

Let us approach our Eucharistic Lord with humble disposition, athirst for a greater love of Him, and with greater desires to receive a plenitude of His grace.

Prayer:  “Lord Jesus Christ, Who, hanging on the Cross, out of the inflamed desire Thou hadst for the salvation of souls didst say: “I thirst” – to wit, for the redemption of mankind; O dearest Lord, by this Thy ardent charity, inflame our hearts with Thy holy love, and wholly extinguish the heat of all evil desires and worldly affections in me.  Amen”

Straight From the Horse’s Mouth: SSPX

What’s going on with the
SSPX & Rome?

Click on the above link for the original source from the SSPX.

SSPX.org commentary | 4-18-2012

Accustomed to instant news, many Catholics often express impatience towards the SSPX’s policy of not providing immediate information concerning its relations with Rome.

However, the SSPX’s discrete manner of handling these media affairs (as seen in this recent clarifying communiqué) is dictated not only by prudence, but also by the respect owed to the Holy See.

In fact, normally such activities between a religious congregation and the Roman Curia are not only conducted in private, but kept private afterwards. However, due to the particular circumstances of the ecclesial crisis, the SSPX’s situation is relevant for the entire Church—thus when deemed appropriate, it informs those outside its society of any new developments.

Thus today the SSPX’s General House published a communiqué concerning Bishop Fellay’s reply to the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, about which many speculations have been spread by the media during the past few days.

At least one Vatican insider has posited that Bishop Fellay gave a “positive” response and also signed in acceptance a modified form of the Doctrinal Preamble. However, speaking today to the French news agency, APIC, SSPX spokesman, Fr. Alain Lorans states that while a “clarified Preamble” was sent to Rome with Bishop Fellay’s reply, beyond these facts one is “speaking too prematurely” when referring to an imminent agreement between the SSPX and Rome. Fr. Lorans went on to clarify that Bishop Fellay’s response is simply another step “in a stage of studies” and that “not everything is already fixed” for an agreement.

Thus at this juncture, it is best to “watch and pray” as developments continue between the SSPX and the Holy See.
